PROVIDENCE, RI–LOL RI is confirming reports that a local middle-aged woman is attempting to gain cultural relevance by using emojis and millenial slang on social media.
Enter Ronda McBride of Providence, the adorable conspiracy caught making waves, in her pursuit of 21st Century street cred.
“I like the one where it’s two hands raised up to the sky,” McBride said. “Sometimes, I use the clenched teeth emoji, which is a big smile. Wait, that one’s a smile, right?”
McBride also posts photos with no textual explanation to them, something she says promotes mystery and interest. McBride confirmed the same applies to her only ever being photographed from the chest up.
This is not first time aging Rhode Islanders have publicly struggled with social media savvy. In 2014, LOL RI reported that aging professional Shamus Windle liked his own Facebook posts, inspiring concern and eye-rolling among his online followers.Follow @lolrisatire
